Johnson Metal Works is an established welding and metal fabrication shop based in Sunburg, serving Willmar, New London, Spicer, Glenwood and the farms, lake homes and shops across west-central Minnesota. We weld steel, stainless, aluminum and cast iron, on-site or in our shop, and we stand behind every job.
Who we are
A weld shop built on hard-earned experience
We started Johnson Metal Works to do the kind of welding and fabrication that holds up in the real world: cracked implement frames that have to make it through harvest, aluminum docks that take a beating every summer on the lake, trailer repairs that need to be road-ready, and one-off fabrication that has to fit right the first time. Over the years we have put our hands on just about every kind of metal job this part of Minnesota brings through the door.
What sets our shop apart is range and judgment. We are comfortable across steel, stainless, aluminum and cast iron, and we run MIG, TIG and stick depending on what the material and the repair actually call for. That experience means we can look at a job, tell you straight whether it should be repaired or replaced, and do the work in a way that lasts instead of just getting you through the week.
We work with farmers, contractors, lake-home owners and local businesses from Kandiyohi County out to Pope, Swift and Stearns. A lot of our work comes from folks who tried somebody else first and got a weld that cracked again. We would rather do it once, do it right, and earn the next call. Rooted in west-central Minnesota
We know these towns and these roads because we work them every week. From our shop in Sunburg we cover Kandiyohi, Pope, Swift and Stearns counties, with a regular run to the lakes and farms in between. The drive to Willmar, Spicer, New London, Glenwood, Paynesville and the smaller towns is part of the job, not an excuse to charge more.
