Mobile Welding in Willmar & West-Central Minnesota

When the broken metal won't fit on a trailer, we bring the weld shop to you. Our fully-equipped mobile rig handles on-site repairs at farms, job sites, and lakeshores across Willmar, Sunburg, and the surrounding towns — so you spend less time hauling and more time working.

On-site & emergency welding

The truck is the shop

A lot of welding jobs never make it through a shop door — the part is bolted to a combine in the middle of a field, the dock rail is bent over the water, or a gate frame is buried in concrete. That's exactly the work our mobile rig is built for. We load the welders, generator, gas, grinders, and steel onto the truck and roll out to wherever the metal is, ready to strike an arc when we get there.

Our rig carries its own power, so there's no scrambling for an outlet on a remote site. We run MIG, TIG, and stick processes off the truck, which means we can match the right method to steel, stainless, aluminum, or cast iron without dragging your equipment back to Sunburg. From a quick weld on a hitch to a full day of structural repair, the capability that lives in a fixed shop comes with us.

Less downtime, no hauling

Hauling a broken piece of equipment costs you twice — once for the trailer time, and again for the hours it sits in line at a shop. Mobile welding cuts both. We show up, assess the break, and weld it in place. For farmers in the middle of planting or harvest, contractors on a deadline, and lake property owners who don't want their lift hanging up the dock all weekend, getting the repair done on-site keeps the job moving.

Metals and processes we run mobile

The mobile rig isn't a stripped-down version of the shop — it's the same range of work, on wheels. We weld and repair:

  • Steel and structural: trailer frames, gates, brackets, hitches, beams, and posts using MIG and stick for strong, field-ready welds.
  • Aluminum: dock sections, boat lifts, truck beds, and rails with TIG and spool-gun MIG for clean, lasting joints. See our aluminum welding work.
  • Stainless steel: railings, tanks, and food-grade hardware where the weld has to look as good as it holds.
  • Cast iron: cracked housings, brackets, and older machine parts that need careful prep and the right rod.

If you're not sure whether your repair can be done on-site, give us a description and we'll tell you straight. Most breakdowns can.

What we fix on-site

Typical mobile welding jobs

A sample of the calls we run across west-central MN — from a field outside Pennock to a lakeshore on Green Lake.

Farm equipment breakdowns

Cracked combine augers, broken plow shanks, snapped loader buckets, and busted hitches welded right in the field. Pairs with our farm equipment repair.

Docks & boat lifts

Bent dock frames, cracked lift welds, and corroded posts repaired at the water's edge. More on dock & boat lift repair.

Job-site & structural

Steel beams, stair stringers, handrails, and bracket repairs welded in place so the crew keeps building instead of waiting.

Trailers & hitches

Cracked trailer frames, sagging tongues, broken ramps, and worn hitches built back up where the trailer sits.

Gates, fences & railings

Driveway gates, livestock panels, and porch railings repaired or reinforced without pulling them out of the ground.

Emergency & after-hours

When a breakdown stops the day cold, we respond fast to get you welded up and back to work. Call or text and we'll head out.

How it works

From your call to a finished weld

1. Tell us the problem

Call or text a description of the break — a few photos help. We'll talk through what's involved and give you a free, honest estimate.

2. We schedule the run

We set a time that fits your operation and route the rig to your farm, site, or lakeshore. For breakdowns, we work to get out the same or next day.

3. We weld on-site

The truck arrives with its own power and the right process for your metal. We prep, weld, and clean up the repair where it sits.

4. Back to work

You inspect the finished weld, we answer any questions, and you're running again — no trailer, no shop line, no lost day.

Common questions

Mobile welding FAQ

Do you really come to my location?

Yes. Our rig carries its own welders, generator, gas, and steel, so we can weld at your farm, job site, or lakeshore without needing power or a shop nearby. If the metal can't easily travel, we travel instead.

How far will you travel for a mobile job?

We cover roughly a 25-mile radius around Sunburg as our core area — Willmar, Spicer, New London, Glenwood, Paynesville, Benson, and the towns between. Farther out is often doable too; ask us about your location.

Can you weld aluminum on-site, not just steel?

We do. The rig runs TIG and spool-gun MIG for aluminum, which is essential for dock and boat-lift work. We also weld steel, stainless, and cast iron mobile. See our aluminum welding page for more.

Do you handle emergency breakdowns?

Yes — especially during planting and harvest, when a down machine costs real money by the hour. Call or text with the details and we'll work to get out as fast as possible.

How do I get a price?

Estimates are free. Call or text a description of the repair, ideally with a couple of photos, and we'll give you an honest quote before we head out. Visit our contact page to get started.

Got metal that can't come to us?

We'll bring the weld shop to your farm, site, or lakeshore. Free estimates — just call or text.
