Welding & Fabrication in Starbuck, MN
Mobile welding and metal fabrication for Starbuck and the Lake Minnewaska shoreline. From aluminum docks and boat lifts on the water to farm equipment out in the fields, our shop brings the welder, the machine, and the experience right to you.
A weld shop that knows lake country and farm country
Starbuck sits right on the south end of Lake Minnewaska, one of the biggest lakes in this part of Minnesota, and that shapes the kind of work we get called for here. Come spring, the docks and lifts go back in; come fall, they come out, and somewhere in between something always bends, cracks, or works loose. Step a half-mile back from the water and you're into the rolling Pope County farmland, where the broken auger, the cracked bucket, and the snapped hitch don't wait for a convenient time either.
We're based up in Sunburg, an easy run of roughly seventeen miles southeast of Starbuck, so this is close, familiar ground for us. We make the drive over to Lake Minnewaska, into town, and out to the surrounding farms regularly, and we know the difference between a quick fix that holds and a weld that actually solves the problem. Whether it's aluminum on the lake or steel in the shop, we bring real experience across metals and processes to every job.

Lake work, farm work, and everything steel in between
Starbuck keeps us busy on both sides of the shoreline. Here's the kind of work we handle most often in and around town.
Aluminum dock repair
Bent sections, cracked welds, broken legs, and storm damage on the docks lining Lake Minnewaska. We repair aluminum on-site so your dock is back in the water without a long haul to a shop.
Boat lift & canopy repair
Cracked frames, sheared brackets, bent uprights, and tired canopy frames. We get lifts running and solid again before the season gets away from you.
Farm equipment repair
Out in the Pope County fields, that means cracked buckets, broken hitches, worn augers, busted loaders, and implement frames that need to hold through harvest.
Trailer & hitch work
Boat trailers, utility trailers, and ag trailers — tongues, crossmembers, fenders, and frames. We straighten and reweld them strong enough for the gravel and the highway both.
Railings, gates & steel
Lakeside stairs and railings, shop gates, and general structural steel repair around the home, cabin, and acreage. Clean welds that look right and stand up.
Custom fabrication
Brackets, mounts, frames, and one-off parts you can't buy off the shelf. Tell us what it needs to do and we'll build it to fit.
A lot of Starbuck calls fall into two buckets: dock and boat lift repair on the water and farm equipment welding in the field. We cover both, plus everything in between.
Mobile means the work happens where the metal is
Loading a boat lift or an implement and dragging it across the county is a hassle nobody wants. So we don't make you. Our rig is set up to weld on location — down at the lakeshore, in the pole barn, or out where the equipment quit. You point us at the problem and we handle it on the spot.
That's the whole idea behind our shop: experienced, properly equipped, and willing to make the drive. We show up ready to work, do the job right the first time, and leave you with a repair that holds. For the bigger neighbors, Starbuck folks also lean on us for work in Glenwood and the towns ringing the lake.
The right process for the metal in front of us
Lake aluminum and field steel call for different tools and a steady hand. We run the full range and pick the process that fits the job.
Aluminum docks and lifts get the careful TIG and MIG work they need so the repair doesn't crack right back out. Steel implements and trailers get strong MIG and stick welds built to take a beating. When something's worn out instead of broken, we can fabricate the replacement. Dig into our full list of services, our dedicated aluminum welding page, or our custom fabrication work.
Straight answers for folks around Lake Minnewaska
How far is Starbuck from your shop?
We're in Sunburg, roughly 17 miles southeast of Starbuck — a short, familiar drive for us. We're over near Lake Minnewaska, in town, and out to the surrounding Pope County farms regularly, so getting to you is no trouble.
Do you come right down to the lake?
Yes. Our rig is built for mobile work, so we weld docks, boat lifts, and railings right at the shoreline. No need to haul an aluminum dock section or a boat lift to a shop — we bring the welder to the water.
Will you drive out to a farm or acreage?
Absolutely. A lot of our Starbuck-area work is out in the fields and pole barns — cracked buckets, broken hitches, worn augers, and implement frames. We come to the equipment so you're not down longer than you have to be.
Can you weld aluminum as well as steel?
Yes. Lake country runs on aluminum, and we weld it properly with TIG and MIG so the repair holds. We also handle steel, stainless, and cast iron, so whatever the metal, we've got the process for it.
How do I get a price?
